Traveling Around the World - Phuket and Bangkok

Aaahhhh...~ Phuket.. This was a graduation trip with my fellow coursemates. More like a reward after putting ourselves through three years of torture with formulas after formulas. This was in the mid of 2009, right after the completion of our finals.. Wohoo..~~

To show how stressed out we were, we went for bungy jump. Wahahahhaa.. Well I did not went, too afraid of heights, I think I would had faint when I reach the top and the person will just need to toss a faint girl out. ^^''

Island hopping in Phuket is a must, since there are many beautiful islands around, it would be a waste not going around. We went snorkelling, the water there was crystal clear. We had a picnic by the beach, swimming around and took tonnes of pictures as tourists do.

Nightlife in Phuket was awesome. There are many different restaurants, pubs, club around, with weird names too. Like Banana.

You can tell that people do have a great time here in Phuket when you see this sign. ^^
After Phuket, we head off to Bangkok, to the city. Another typical metropolitan, where there is traffic jams and cars and tall buildings. Yet, there is one special transportation that you won't fail to spot on the streets, "Tut tuts".

Since we are in the city, and we don't want to waste money or risk getting cheated by a taxi driver, we took the Bangkok Mass Transit (BTS) Skytrain. It is so convenient since it has stops to most part of the city.

As tourists, we spent a lot of time being lost since we were not able to communicate with the locals (we don't speak Thai k?). We had maps after maps, going through them from corner to corner.

We are tough graduates, so eventually we manage to find our way around. We went to Siam Paragon, a huge shopping mall, pricey and all, a good place to window shop. We also went to Platinium Mall, a mall full of bargains and different types of clothing selling at cheap prices. Well, us being girls, we just have to shop right? It would be an offence not to. ^^''

This is the result of shopping too much.

Of course, besides shopping we did some sightseeing too. We went to the Royal Palace, visiting some temples, took a river cruise and had lots and lots of Tomyam.. Yum~~

We won't be able to visit so many places without the help of my two Thai friends, Pipe and Pope. Saved up so much time from looking in maps and getting lost. Thank you.

My friend bought us mango and durian sticky rice, really nice combination, missing it already.

Our graduation trip to Thailand was awesomely great. I do intend to visit Bangkok again, hopefully soon. ^^
